What to do with a Grace Lou???

Grace started having some accidents around the house and after being potty trained for months and months. I was getting quite sick and tired of dealing with this. I asked her why she was peeing on the floor had she forgotten where the bathroom was?? and if she needed a map to get there? So, she pees on the floor again and I ask her why did she peed on my floor AGAIN?? She says it's because she doesn't have a map!! I then make the child a map which should now take care of the situation......

Greg finds Grace in the bathroom with wet pants holding the map.....He asked her why were her pants wet?? She responds.......

I GOT LOST!!!

Response to Nikki's "Being Good"

After Nikki posted about "Being Good", I figured this was a good time to post about how I feel on the subject. I think it is important to celebrate the small things maybe not every report card. I don't think we should take for granted that are children are smart and healthy. That they are doing the things that are age appropriate walking, going potty, etc. There are parents out there that are NEVER going to see their children walk or ride a bike, get on the school bus, go on the potty, etc. That could have easily been us. For these parents, I celebrate my children's accomplishments no matter big or small. We celebrate these events with a $10 cake and sing "for she's a jolly good fellow" which is a small price to pay for the joy they get. We have celebrated for getting into kindergarten, being potty trained, learning to tie shoes, starting the next grade, and anything else I think of. How often do you remember getting recognized for something good you did?? Just because what their accomplishing is something easy to us doesn't mean it was easy to them. The cost of recognizing what they have done is going to be a lasting memory for them; that you took the time to make them feel so special. Everyone likes to be recognized no matter if your big or small!

Class of 1954 reunion!

We had our first murder mystery dinner on Saturday and had such a blast. We have great friends that are so willing to dress up and pretend to be crazy characters. I decorated half of the living room to look like a 50s diner where our class reunion was located. The party was at 6pm (Jacob and Sarah arrived early! which needs to be noted since of its rarity!!) We ate authentic diner food (coneys and burgers) from A&W with shakes to drink. Sarah, thanks again for making the shakes. We spent the evening figuring out what happened to Rock N. Roley and accusing everyone of being the killer. We had 3 different desserts which I have continued to eat the yummy ice cream dessert everyday since then. After everyone was gone, I was already online looking up my next murder. Bump! Bump! Bum!
The characters that were invited......and boy were they characters!!
Greg- Joeseph K. Awledge (Joe College)
Tracey- Evelyn C. Leigh (Easy Lay)
Jacob- Delbert Toydes (Deltoid)
Sarah- Priscilla E. Teene (Pristine)
Jamie- Calvin Q. Layder (Calculator)
Nikki-Penny Loafer
Jeff-Richard C. Alcitrent (Recalcitrant)
Kristi-Dierdre C. Deucer (Seducer)
If there had been an award for best dressed Jamie would have won it. It was hard to look at him without laughing! Great Job on showing us your inner nerd!
Thanks again to the Class of 1954 it was a night that I will never forget!

I'm back!

Since everyone is getting so crabby about my lack of posting......here is what I have been doing instead.........

Recovering my Great Grandma's chair which had material that felt like a enormous orange loofah that if sat on naked could have rubbed all of your skin off.

Getting my much anticipated 25 sheets on drywall delivered through my girls bedroom window when it was freezing cold out.

Then I busted my rump to get those sheets hung as quick as possible so that my DH could mud and tape them before he started back to work. For 7 days I did nothing but eat, sleep, and breathe in drywall and all of its dust. I now have a permanent spot on my hand from where my drill was pushing in every time I screwed in a stinking screw. So maybe I have a small case of OCD but I just wish my husband would get it if it meant he would get some work done!
My (and Greg's!) black and white bedroom paradise is getting so close that I can smell the fresh paint. Mmmm.....that paint smells sooooo good!!
After all of that, I have been planning my murder mystery party! I guess that you probably want to see pics of that now, huh??
